Treatment

Diving Injury Treatment

These injuries most commonly include barotrauma of the ear and sinuses. We also treat decompression sickness when treatment in a multi-place chamber is not available. Onsite we have nine mono-place chambers with a compression capacity of 3 ATA. These mono-place hyperbaric chambers are regularly used to treat conditions approved by the Undersea & Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) and Health Canada. Our centre is recognized as a Divers Alert Network (DAN) Referral Centre. Physician’s services for the treatment of diving related injuries are covered by OHIP.

Please note that we do not provide 24-hour emergency care.

If you are suffering from an acute diving injury, please contact the Diver’s Alert Network (DAN) who will connect you with the closest facility that provides emergency 24-hour care.
